Highfields is one of Leicester's most densely populated residential areas, located just south-east of the city centre. The area features a mix of Victorian terraced housing, inter-war semi-detached homes, and some newer developments. Its proximity to the University of Leicester campus and diverse community create distinct pest control needs.
Mice are the most common pest call-out in Highfields, thriving in the densely packed Victorian terraced housing with shared walls and older construction. Rats are prevalent in rear alleyways and gardens, particularly where waste management is challenging. Cockroaches are found in some of the older properties and commercial premises along Evington Road. Bed bugs are a concern due to the high turnover of rented accommodation. Ants are a persistent problem during warmer months in the older housing stock.
