Every Product Named on the US Pages

One place to find any tool named anywhere on this estate. 143 distinct products, grouped by the pest they are for, each sitting under the page that explains what it does and when it is the wrong choice.

What This Page Is, and What It Leaves Out

This is an index, not a recommendation. It lists every product named anywhere on the US pages so you can find one again without remembering which page it was on. The products are grouped by the pest they are for and, within a group, by the page that names them.

Read the page before you buy from this list. Each product here is shown with the same mechanical description its own page gives it, and nothing else. What is missing is everything that decides whether it is the right thing to buy: which pest you actually have, whether the product works on that pest at all, what it can and cannot do, how to use it without harming yourself or an animal, and whether your state permits it. That reasoning is on the linked page in every case, and the link sits directly above each group of cards. A trap bought for the wrong animal is wasted; a trap set in a state that prohibits it is worse than wasted.

Nothing here is ranked, scored or labeled a best buy, and no price appears on this page. Prices change and we do not track them. Availability changes too, and a link that opened a product when the page was written may open something else later.

Two numbers describe this list and they are not the same number. There are 143 distinct products here, and 188 entries across 40 pages. The difference is products named on more than one page: a silicone sealant is the same tube whether you are shutting out scorpions or cluster flies, and it appears under both, described each time for the reader of that page.

Biting & Stinging Pests

Ticks

Species and their ranges, the published removal procedure, and prevention. Read the Ticks page before buying any of the 7 products below.

Spray bottle

Sawyer Premium Permethrin Insect Repellent for Clothing, Gear & Tents

A permethrin treatment applied to fabric, not to skin. CDC states to treat clothing and gear with products containing 0.5% permethrin.
The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station states that products for consumer application to clothing contain 0.5% permethrin, and that permethrin works primarily by killing ticks on contact with the treated clothes.
CDC states that permethrin can be used to treat boots, clothing and camping gear and remain protective through several washings.
The National Pesticide Information Center states that cats are more sensitive to permethrin than dogs or people because it takes their bodies a long time to break it down.

Spray

Sawyer Products SP543 Premium Insect Repellent with 20% Picaridin, Pump Spray

Picaridin is one of the actives CDC names for EPA-registered insect repellents, alongside DEET, IR3535, Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus, para-menthane-diol and 2-undecanone.
CDC states to look for an EPA registration number, written EPA Reg. No., on the insect repellent product label, and that this number means the company provided EPA with technical information on the effectiveness of the product.
The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station advises that when applying a repellent against ticks, particular attention should be given to the shoe tops, socks, and lower portion of pants.

Spray

OFF! Deep Woods Max Insect Repellent, Mosquito & Tick Aerosol with 20% Picaridin

A second example of the same CDC-named active, in an aerosol rather than a pump spray.
CDC states always to follow product instructions, and not to use products containing Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus or para-menthane-diol on children under 3 years old.
CDC states that if you are using sunscreen, apply sunscreen first and insect repellent second.

Tool

Precision Splinter Pointed Tweezers, Stainless Steel, Extra Fine Points

CDC specifies clean fine-tipped tweezers, used to grasp the tick as close to the skin surface as possible.
CDC states that there are several tick removal devices on the market, but a plain set of tweezers works very well. This is not a specialist device and is not offered as one.
CDC states to pull the tick away from the skin with steady, even pressure and not to twist or jerk it.

Tool

Majestic Bombay Fine Point Tweezers, Stainless Steel

A second example of the same tool type CDC describes.
CDC states that if fine-tipped tweezers are not available, regular tweezers or your fingers can be used to grasp the tick, grasping close to the skin surface to avoid squeezing the tick body.

Stakes

Thermacell Tick Control Tubes, 12 Pack

A tick tube product. The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station describes the method as permethrin-treated cotton that targets larvae and nymphs of Ixodes scapularis on white-footed mice.
The same source states that the results from studies with the tubes have been mixed, and that no reduction was found in woodland and residential areas of about 4 acres or less in several Connecticut and New York trials.
The mixed-evidence finding above is about the method and about the Damminix product the source names. No source consulted for this page evaluated this particular product.
The National Pesticide Information Center states that cats are more sensitive to permethrin than dogs or people.

Granules

Ortho BugClear Lawn Insect Killer, 20 lb

A granular lawn product whose own listing title names ticks among the insects it addresses.
The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station states that both liquid and granular formulations have been reported effective against Ixodes scapularis, and that wooded areas adjacent to the home should be treated for maximum effectiveness.
The same source gives the optimum time for an application against nymphal deer ticks as mid-May to early June, and states that a single application of most acaricides is sufficient for the summer tick season.
CDC states that use of pesticides can reduce the number of ticks in treated areas of your yard, however you should not rely on spraying to reduce your risk of infection.

Spray bottle

Sawyer Premium Permethrin Insect Repellent for Clothing, Gear & Tents

A permethrin treatment for fabric, not for skin. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension states to apply products containing permethrin to clothing.
No source consulted for this page gives a permethrin concentration for chiggers, so none is claimed here.
Texas A&M advises tucking pants legs inside boots and buttoning cuffs and collars, which is where treated fabric matters most.

Treatment

Amazon Basics Medicated Calamine Anti-Itch Lotion, 6 Fluid Ounce

Calamine is one of the anti-itch cream ingredients Texas A&M AgriLife Extension names.
University of Maryland Extension states that topical creams or ointments help to relieve itching, and to ask your physician for a recommendation.
Ohio State University Extension states that extension staff are not medical professionals and cannot diagnose bites or other skin ailments.

No-See-Ums

Biting midges, window screen mesh sizes, and the sand fly naming problem. Read the No-See-Ums page before buying any of the 6 products below.

Netting

No-See-Um Small Insect Screen, 20 x 20 Mesh Roll, 36 inch x 25 feet

A replacement screening roll whose own title states a 20 x 20 mesh count.
University of Arizona Cooperative Extension states that no-see-ums can pass through standard 16 x 16 or 18 x16 mesh screens, so replace these with smaller mesh, 30 x 30, wherever possible. This product is finer than the standard that fails, and below the figure that source names.
Purdue Extension states that window and door screens consisting of a mesh size smaller than normal window screen is much more effective in reducing bites.

Netting

No-See-Um Small Insect Screen, 20 x 20 Mesh Roll, 36 inch x 100 feet

The same 20 x 20 mesh in a longer roll, for larger openings or a porch.
UF/IFAS Extension states that regular window screens do not exclude biting midges from indoor areas, and that the openings of biting midge, or no-see-um, screen are small enough to exclude biting midges.
The Arizona source also asks for screens to be inspected periodically and any rips or gaps repaired, which applies to new screening as much as old.

Netting

No-Seeum 20x20 Window Screen Mesh, Heavy-Duty Roll

A third 20 x 20 option, from a different manufacturer, for windows, doors, porches and patios.
NC State Extension notes that midges may find gaps or tears that allow them to enter homes, so fit and condition matter alongside the mesh count.
No source consulted for this page evaluates this or any other named screening product. The mesh count is the sourced criterion; the product is an example of it.

Spray

Sawyer Products SP543 Premium Insect Repellent with 20% Picaridin, Pump Spray

Picaridin is among the EPA-registered active ingredients named in the University of Arizona repellent publication this page relies on.
That publication states that in general, repellents containing a higher percentage of the active ingredient typically provide longer-lasting protection.
The four sources on this page disagree about how well repellents work against biting midges specifically. That disagreement is set out above and is not settled here.

Spray

OFF! Deep Woods Max Insect Repellent, Mosquito & Tick Aerosol with 20% Picaridin

A second example of the same active ingredient, in an aerosol rather than a pump spray.
Repellent product labels give specific use instructions that should be followed carefully, per the University of Arizona repellent publication.
No source consulted for this page names picaridin against biting midges directly; the basis is the mosquito-equivalence chain described above.

Spray bottle

Sawyer Premium Permethrin Insect Repellent for Clothing, Gear & Tents

A permethrin treatment for fabric, not for skin.
The University of Arizona repellent publication states that some repellents containing permethrin actually kill biting pests on contact, and a second Arizona publication suggests treating existing screens with an approved insecticide such as permethrin.
Purdue Extension states that clothing impregnated with DEET or permethrin provides only limited protection. That limitation is part of the record and is stated here rather than omitted.

Mosquitoes

Standing water and source reduction, Bti and methoprene larvicides, and what several sources say does not work. Read the Mosquitoes page before buying any of the 3 products below.

Treatment

Bti Mosquito Dunks for Ponds and Standing Water, 2-Pack

Its own listing states the formula releases Bti "for a period of 30 days or more," matching the 30-day figure Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and NC State Extension both give for a Bti dunk treating a contained breeding site.
Its own listing states it is safe for use in fish habitats and animal watering troughs — matching University of Kentucky Extension and NC State Extension's sourced finding that Bti does not harm fish, birds, pets or other wildlife when used per label directions.
This is a larval-stage treatment for standing water a property owner cannot drain or empty, not a treatment for adult mosquitoes already flying — see Adult Control below for that.

Spray

20% Picaridin Insect Repellent, Continuous Spray, 6 oz

Its own listing states a 20% picaridin formula — picaridin is one of the active ingredients University of Kentucky Extension and University of Maryland Extension both name as effective, alongside DEET and oil of lemon eucalyptus.
Its own listing states the spray is fragrance-free and dries without damaging plastics or synthetic coatings, matching the "apply to clothing as well as skin" guidance University of Kentucky Extension gives.
This card omits marketing language on the product's own listing that names specific mosquito- and tick-borne diseases by name — out of scope for this page regardless of what the manufacturer's copy says. Follow the product's own label for concentration, reapplication timing and any age-specific directions; this page does not restate them (see the note above).

Spreader

Mosquito & Gnat Barrier, Hose-End Sprayer, Quart

Its own listing states the product is applied with a hose-end sprayer and treats mosquitoes for up to four weeks — matching University of Kentucky Extension's recommendation of a hose-end sprayer as usually the most effective and convenient DIY residual-spray method for shade trees, shrubs and shaded areas.
Its own listing directs application to "paths and wooded areas" — matching the resting-site targeting (siding, doorways, tall grass, shrubs) both Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and University of Kentucky Extension describe for residual sprays.
This page's own sourced caution about harm to pollinators (above) applies to this product like any other residual insecticide — apply in the evening, away from blooming plants, per the product's own label.

Arizona Bark Scorpions

Telling it from the harmless desert scorpions, the sting, and sealing a building. Read the Arizona Bark Scorpions page before buying any of the 8 products below.

Sealant

GE Advanced Silicone Caulk for Window & Door, Clear, 10 fl oz Cartridge

A silicone sealant, which is the material class Texas A&M AgriLife Extension names for scorpion work when it says to use good quality elastomeric sealants on windows, building cracks and utility penetrations.
University of Arizona Cooperative Extension names the locations for this work on a scorpion job: roof eaves, pipes, and any other points and wall penetrations into the building.
Its own listing states silicone and a 10 fl oz cartridge. Nothing further about it is claimed here, and no source names it or any other product.

Sealant

GE Advanced Silicone Window & Door Sealant, Clear, 10.1 oz Cartridge

A second silicone option in the same cartridge size range, for the same wall penetrations.
The reason a silicone is named at all rather than a cheaper filler is the University of Arizona pest-proofing publication, which states that silicone lasts longer than latex caulking materials because it expands and contracts more effectively with changing temperatures.
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension gives the only gap figure attached to sealing on a scorpion job: seal gaps under flashing along roof lines and ledges that are an eighth of an inch or larger.

View this tool on Amazon

Sealant

GE All Purpose Silicone Caulk, Clear, 10 fl oz Cartridge

Also a silicone sealant. Its listing describes it as all purpose rather than as a window and door product, which is the difference between this and the two above.
That distinction belongs to the listings and not to any source: neither Texas A&M AgriLife Extension nor the University of Arizona distinguishes between silicone formulations for this work.
Whichever is used, the University of Arizona instruction about weep holes still applies: those are screened, not sealed.

Electrical

UV Black Light Flashlight, 21 LED, 395 nm

A handheld ultraviolet light. Its listing states 21 LEDs and a wavelength of 395 nm, and names scorpions among what it is sold to find.
Portable and battery-powered, which is what the University of Arizona pest-proofing publication asks for when it describes a portable battery-operated light with a black UV bulb.
No source names a required wavelength, LED count or output for this work, so nothing here says this light performs better or worse than the two below.

Light

Black Light Flashlight, 108 LEDs, 395 nm

A handheld ultraviolet light with a larger emitter array. Its listing states 108 LEDs and a wavelength of 395 nm, and names scorpion detection among its uses.
The University of Arizona pest-proofing publication states that scorpions glow brightly under black light and are extremely conspicuous up to several yards away; it does not say what light is needed to achieve that.

Light

Zoomable Black Light Flashlight, 395 nm, 2 Pack

Its listing publishes dimensions of 0.95 by 0.95 by 3.54 inches and it is sold as a two-pack.
Included because University of Arizona Cooperative Extension advises conducting UV light collections several times during summer months between 8 and 11pm, which is a job for a torch you can carry, and for no reason beyond that.

Tool

Josh’s Frogs Stainless Steel Curved Reptile Feeding Tongs, 12 inch

Its listing publishes a length of 12 inches, which is the upper end of the 10 to 12 inch range UC IPM gives for forceps used to pick up a scorpion.
Stainless steel with a curved tip, per the listing. Nothing else about it is claimed here.
UC IPM names a length; it does not name a product, and neither Texas A&M AgriLife Extension nor the University of Arizona names one either.

Tool

Stainless Steel Feeding Tongs, 10.6 inch, 2 Pack

Black Widow Spiders

Which widow species, whether the hourglass is reliable, and what the sources say about bites. Read the Black Widow Spiders page before buying any of the 8 products below.

Duster

EVERSPROUT 5-to-12 Foot Cobweb Duster & Pole Combo

Kansas State University Extension names the tool directly: remove and destroy spiders, webbing and egg sacs with a broom or other long-handled device, or a vacuum cleaner
The reach matters because widow webs sit in the places you do not want your hand — K-State lists electrical and water meter boxes, woodpiles, lawn debris and unused equipment
A pole reaching 5 to 12 feet, per the listing, so the web comes down from a distance
Already named on our Joro spider web page for a different job. Same tool, and the reason here is that three of these sources make physical removal the main method

Protection

Grain Cowhide Leather Palm Gauntlet Cuff Gloves

Two of the four sources that mention gloves specify the material: Kansas State asks for leather gloves and long sleeves, and Colorado State for heavy, leather gloves
Leather and a gauntlet cuff, both stated in the listing itself — the cuff is the part that covers the wrist and forearm as a hand goes into a woodpile or a meter box
UC IPM attaches gloves to two specific moments: clearing clutter in garages and storage areas, and picking up firewood
No source consulted for this page describes any glove as bite-proof, and this page does not describe one that way either

Product

Sterilite 54 Quart Gasket Box, 4-Pack

UC IPM asks for seasonal items to be stored in boxes that can be taped shut and placed off the floor away from walls, so that spiders are excluded from them
This is a sealed latching box rather than a taped cardboard one — it meets the purpose UC IPM describes and exceeds the specification it gives, which is a difference worth stating rather than glossing
Four containers at 54 quarts each, per the listing, with a gasketed seal and hinged latch clips in its own description
The placement instruction is half the measure: off the floor and away from walls, not stacked tight against them

Sealant

GE Advanced Silicone Caulk for Window & Door, Clear, 10 fl oz Cartridge

Kansas State Extension: where possible, seal cracks around doors and windows and repair holes in screens, to keep spiders out of the structure
A cartridge sealant is how those gaps close, and this one is sold for windows and doors, which is where K-State puts the instruction
Utah State Extension gives the same measure as one line of its IPM list: seal exterior cracks and crevices to reduce hiding places
Named on four other pages of this site for four other animals. The reason here is the widow sources own instruction, not theirs

Sealant

GE Advanced Silicone Window & Door Sealant, Clear, 10.1 oz Cartridge

UC IPM describes the same job in a garage: block off house access to spiders by sealing cracks around doors and access holes for electrical conduits or plumbing
A clear cartridge sealant for those gaps, in the same size class as the one above
K-State makes the point that sealing works on both sides of the problem, keeping out the spiders and the insect prey they follow
A specific example of the type. No source consulted tested this or any other brand against a widow spider

Sealant

GE All Purpose Silicone Caulk, Clear, 10 fl oz Cartridge

An all-purpose silicone rather than a window-and-door one, for the conduit and plumbing penetrations UC IPM names
Widow spiders use ready-made holes. Colorado State says they are most often found in abandoned rodent burrows, loose stone or wood piles, or the corners of rooms, garages and outbuildings
Sealing is the one control step every source on this page supports without qualification

36 Inch Slide-On Door Sweep, Aluminum with Rubber Seal

Utah State Extension puts it on its IPM list in four words: install tight-fitting door sweeps
The listing states the gap it closes — from a quarter of an inch to one inch, between the door and the floor or threshold
It states its own fit: 36 inches long, trimmable to smaller doors, for doors one inch to one and three-quarter inches thick
The aluminum holder slides over the bottom edge of the door and covers both sides, per the listing, so no slot or track is needed in the door

Insect Screen, 20 x 20 Mesh Roll, 36 inch x 25 feet

Utah State Extension asks for tight-fitting screens in windows; K-State asks that holes in screens be repaired
A 20 by 20 mesh roll, 36 inches by 25 feet per the listing, which is a screen-repair quantity rather than a whole-porch one
Neither source specifies a mesh count for widows. The mesh here is finer than the 18 by 16 sold as standard window screening, and that is a fact about the product rather than a requirement from any source
Named on two other pages of this site for insects that come through torn screens. The reason here is the same physical gap

A pocket magnifier at 10x, which is the kind of tool University of Kentucky Extension says the eye check needs: it calls for a good quality hand lens
The character it is for is a count — six eyes in three pairs, on a body under half an inch long
Ruling a spider OUT is what this does. Every source on this page routes confirmation to an entomologist, an extension office or a pest control professional

Gemplers Unlined Nitrile Gloves, 15 mil

University of Kentucky Extension says to wear long sleeves and gloves when sorting through boxes or materials, to avoid being bitten
That is the whole reason this is here: the sorting is when a hand goes somewhere a spider is already resting
A reusable unlined nitrile glove at 15 mil, which is a working thickness rather than a disposable one

Sealant

GE Advanced Silicone Caulk for Window & Door, Clear, 10 fl oz Cartridge

Kentucky Extension names gaps under doors, vents and utility penetrations, the bottommost edge of siding, and where eaves and soffits meet the walls as the common entry points for this spider
A cartridge sealant is how those gaps get closed; this one is sold for windows and doors, which is where two of those entry points are

Trapper LTD Mouse/Insect Glue Boards, Case of 72

The listing states in its own words that the board lies flat, which is the form University of Kentucky Extension specifies for this spider
Seventy-two boards in one purchase. Kentucky says dozens placed throughout a home are what reveal where the spiders actually are, and this is the only quantity on this page that meets that in a single order
Its own description names mice, insects and spiders as target pests, and gives the board as 8 inches by 4 inches
Kentucky places traps in corners, along baseboards and at wall-floor junctures, especially behind furniture and clutter. The listing describes the same placement
Adult females stay hidden and are the ones least likely to be caught. Kentucky says so plainly, and it is the reason traps are described here as a survey rather than a solution

A granular bait — a product containing a food plus an insecticide, which is what Texas A&M describes step one as using.
Sold as 1 lb, which is roughly the 1 to 1.5 pounds per acre AgriLife Extension gives as the typical application. Read the label rate for your product and area, which is the instruction every source gives.

Granules

Fertilome Come and Get It Fire Ant Killer Bait, 1 lb

Its listing publishes spinosad as the active ingredient and carries an OMRI listing. AgriLife Extension in 2026 recommends products containing spinosad for a vegetable bed or where an organic approach is preferred.
Texas A&M describes the natural-products route as broadcasting a spinosad bait first, and states that the Organic Materials Review Institute certifies several spinosad-containing products for fire ant control.
UF/IFAS Extension advises looking for products certified by OMRI, which is the one organic criterion any source here gives that a listing can be checked against.

Granules

Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait, 1.5 lb

Its listing publishes two actives, hydramethylnon and methoprene. Texas A&M names both: hydramethylnon among the faster actives, and methoprene among the insect growth regulator baits.
UF/IFAS Extension describes insect growth regulators including methoprene as reducing egg production and preventing worker development, and notes that they do not kill adult ants, so a treated colony persists until its workers die naturally.
Named here because its published actives are ones the sources name. No comparison against the other two baits on this page is offered or implied.

Spreader

Scotts Whirl Hand-Powered Spreader

A hand-held, hand-powered spreader — the type Texas A&M names as ideal for applying fire ant baits.
Not a belly spreader, a drop spreader or a push-type fertilizer spreader, each of which the sources exclude by name.
Its listing describes it as hand-held. Nothing further about it is claimed here, and no source names it or any other product.

Spreader

EarthWay 14014 Hand Spreader, 4 lb

Sold as a hand spreader with a 4 lb capacity, which is the hand-held type the sources name.
Its product title states the hand-spreader type; its body copy does not restate it, so the type is taken from the title and that is recorded here rather than glossed over.
Clemson Extension says to set the gate opening just wide enough for the product to come out and no wider, because only 1 to 1.5 pounds of bait are being applied per acre.

Protection

Gemplers Unlined Nitrile Gloves, 15 mil

Its listing states both properties Texas A&M names for handling liquid concentrates: chemical resistant, and unlined.
15 mil nitrile per the listing. No source names a thickness, so the figure is recorded and not held up as a criterion.
For step two, mixing and applying a liquid concentrate — not for broadcasting a granular bait.

Protection

SHOWA 727 Nitrile Chemical Resistant Glove, Unlined

Chemical resistant and unlined, both stated in its own listing, which is the specification Texas A&M gives.
A second option in the same class rather than an improvement on the one above; no source compares any two gloves.
Same scope: liquid concentrates, per the instruction the specification comes from.

Protection

SHOWA 737 Nitrile Chemical Resistant Glove, Unlined, 22 mil

Chemical resistant and unlined per its own listing, at 22 mil, which is the thickest of the three named here.
Thickness is a listing figure and not a sourced criterion. It is recorded because the listing publishes it.
Same scope again: Texas A&M attaches the requirement to handling liquid concentrates.

Product

UZOQPAIZF Fine Tooth Metal Flea Comb for Dogs and Cats

States both halves of what the source asks for in its own words: a fine-tooth metal comb that captures fleas, ticks, lice and their eggs from the root
This is the only comb of the four we checked whose own feature text says it captures fleas at all. The rest describe grooming
A non-slip rubber handle, per the listing, and it is rinsed under water after use
UC IPM gives combing two jobs, not one: removing fleas from the animal, and monitoring the population so you can judge whether anything further is needed

Trap

Enoz Trap-N-Kill Indoor Flea Trap with Lightbulb and Sticky Pad

Its stated mechanism is the one UF/IFAS describes: fleas are drawn to the light and heat from the bulb, then held on a sticky pad
Plugs into a wall outlet and runs continuously; the listing says a pad lasts up to three months and is replaced when full
The listing states it was previously sold as BioCare and renamed, which is worth knowing if you have seen the older name

Trap

Indoor Flea Trap with Sticky Pads and Bulb Replacements, 2-Pack

States the same light-and-heat mechanism in its own text, and adds color to the list of what draws the insect in
Two traps, four glue pads and six bulbs per pack, per the listing, with refills sold separately
The seller claims a fifty-foot attraction radius. No source consulted states any distance for a flea trap, so that figure is the seller’s alone and is not repeated here as fact
Uses a physical trap rather than an insecticide, which is the reason UF/IFAS discusses this class at all

Trap

Frogoom Hanging Flea Trap with LED Light and 3 Sticky Pads

A hanging design on a USB-C cable rather than a wall-outlet unit, which is the practical difference from the others here
Three sticky pad replacements included, each stated as twenty-two square inches
⚠ The listing contradicts itself on its own model year: the title says 2026 while its first feature line says 2024. No year is claimed on this card

Trap

Indoor Electric Flea Trap, 2-Pack with 6 Bulbs and 8 Sticky Pads

Its title and its feature text agree on the counts — two traps, six bulbs, eight sticky pads — which is not true of every listing in this category
The listing says to replace the glue pads every two to four weeks
The same seller lists a near-identical trap under a separate ASIN in another color. Neither listing states that the difference is only the color, so we treat them as two products and name only this one

Trap

Climbup Insect Interceptor Bed Bug Trap, 4ct

Its own text names the dual-well design that shows direction of travel: "Dual-well design: Shows you which direction bedbugs are crawling"
Its own text states its fit: "Versatile design: Fits all furniture with posts/feet 375 In Diameter or less" (the listing's own text; no decimal point appears in it)
A four-pack, made in the USA per the listing's own text, sized for placing one interceptor under each leg of a single bed, which is the placement Penn State's 89 percent detection figure and EPA's preparing-for-treatment page both describe

Encasement

Its own text states the sealed, secured zipper design Purdue's own criterion asks for: "The nylon zipper closure glides around three sides and tucks under a stitched guard flap, leaving no open corner or gap at the pull"
Its own text states the size: "This Twin XL mattress encasement fits a mattress measuring 39 by 80 inches and 10 inches deep, stretching up to 11"
Its own text states an independent textile certification, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 — named here because it is stated in the listing's own feature text, not because any source on this page asked for it

Its own text names the target directly: "The steam eliminates bed bugs and their eggs through thermal shock right from the first pass"
Its own text states a no-license, broad-surface consumer-use claim: "Not special licenses required to operate and safe to treat in all environments and virtually any material"
The listing's own bullets open with "EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE" and describe the unit as "patented" — self-praise, trimmed from this card copy and not a ground for exclusion (S47-F). A closing bullet recommending a companion anti-limescale product is a cross-sell and is not carried here either

Its own text names the animals on this page: wasps, hornets, yellow jackets and mud daubers
Its own text states outdoor use only, and gives a dielectric breakdown voltage of 47,300 volts

Carpenter Bees

Telling one from a bumblebee, the timber damage, and why several sources ask you to think twice before killing them. Read the Carpenter Bees page before buying any of the 3 products below.

Sealant

Carpenter Bee Hole Repair Kit, 3-Step Wood Plug Set

Its own listing describes a 3-step process — clean the tunnel, plug the hole with a tapered wood plug sized to fit, then finish with a color-matched decal — matching the plug-and-seal sequence UC IPM and Ohio State University Extension both describe.
Its own listing states plugs come in three sizes (small, medium, large) to match different hole diameters, consistent with the roughly half-inch entry hole University of Maryland Extension measures, allowing for reused, enlarged galleries.
This is a repair product, not a treatment for an active infestation — it is carded for the "plug the hole" step the sourced guidance describes after bees have emerged, not as a way to kill or exclude bees from an active gallery.

Spray

Citrus and Almond Oil Carpenter Bee Repellent Spray, 8 oz

Its own listing states a formula of citrus, peppermint and almond oils intended to discourage carpenter bees from boring into wooden surfaces — matching the essential-oil deterrent both Alabama Cooperative Extension and Penn State Extension describe (Penn State names almond oil specifically).
Its own listing states it is intended for repeated seasonal application to decks, fences and garden furniture, and directs applying it to visible drill holes — matching the prevention window (before or around nest-building season) the sourced guidance above describes.
S48-A note: the listing itself hedges its own effectiveness ("Results may vary") — that weak-effectiveness admission is reported here, not a reason to exclude the product, since no material danger or legal restriction attaches to it.

Trap

Carpenter Bee Trap, Catch and Release, Wood Boring Bee Trap

Its own listing states the trap is "uniquely designed & crafted to attract only carpenter bees" and that other bees — bumbles, honeys, and leafcutters — are not drawn to it, addressing the non-target-pollinator concern this page raises directly (S52-E: this is stated in the listing's own text, not assumed from the product name).
Its own listing describes a catch-and-release mechanism — a latch opens the capture chamber so a trapped bee can be relocated and released rather than killed — matching the sources' preference for non-lethal management over indiscriminate killing.
S48-A note: Alabama Cooperative Extension states directly that traps "often do not provide effective control around a structure" — that weak-effectiveness finding is reported, not concealed, and is why this page presents the trap as one tool alongside prevention and repair rather than a standalone fix.

Mississippi State University Extension states that gel baits can be especially effective but must be used correctly, using multiple placements of small amounts of bait, drops generally no larger than a pea.
The same source states that unconsumed bait dries out over time and becomes unpalatable to roaches, so placements need renewing.

Both UF/IFAS Extension and Mississippi State University Extension state that sprays must not be applied where baits have been placed, because they repel roaches from the bait.

Welded Wire Mesh Fence Roll, 2 x 4 Inch Mesh, 50 Foot

Meets the mesh criterion on the listing’s own words: “the versatile 2”x4” mesh opening”. Two inches by four inches is inside UC IPM’s limit of no larger than 6 inches on both axes
The listing states galvanized steel wire and a 15 gauge
Sold as a roll measuring 6 ft by 50 ft. THAT IS THE ROLL, NOT AN ERECTED FENCE — the listing never describes the 6 ft figure as a height, and this card makes no height claim on its behalf
The only dimension field on the listing reads 8.7 x 8.7 x 71.7 inches, which is the rolled package

Welded Wire Mesh Fence Roll, 2 x 4 Inch Mesh, 50 Foot, Hot-Dip Galvanized

Meets the mesh criterion on its own words: “Made from 15 gauge welded steel with 2” x 4” mesh openings”. Inside the 6-inch limit on both axes
The listing states it is hot-dip galvanized after welding, so the weld joints are coated rather than bare
Sold as a roll the listing describes as “Measuring 6 ft x 50 ft”. Again a roll dimension, not a stated fence height
The listing states it can be trimmed with wire cutters or metal shears

Netting

Fencer Wire Welded Wire Fence Roll, 4 x 4 Inch Mesh, 100 Foot

Meets the mesh criterion on its own words: “4” x 4” Opening Square Mesh Weave; With 4 inch by 4 inch mesh”. Four inches is inside the 6-inch limit, and it is the largest aperture of the three carded here
The listing states 12.5 gauge wire, galvanized before welding, with a Class 1 zinc coating
The listing gives “Fence Size: 6 ft. x 100 ft.” — a roll dimension. It does not state a height and this card does not claim one
Twice the roll length of the two above, at a heavier gauge and a wider aperture

Product

Coyote Roller 8 Foot Kit

Meets the roller criterion in the listing’s own words: the manufacturer text says it is “Designed to deny an animals paws the traction needed to pull themselves up and over a fence by spinning freely when attempting to enter or exit a yard”
That is the mechanism UC IPM describes — denying a foothold at the top of the fence — stated by the seller rather than inferred by us
The listing states a roller length of 48.5 inches including end caps, and an 8-foot kit containing two rollers and four mounting brackets
Sold in fence-type fitments. This link is the wood dog-ear fitment; the same kit in a chain-link fitment is a separate listing under ASIN B0BMNP26FP. Pick the one matching your fence
UC IPM presents a roller as an addition to a fence that already meets the height, mesh and apron figures, not as a substitute for any of them

Product

Guutuca 4 Foot Fence Topper Roller Kit

Meets the same criterion on its own feature text: “The anti-climb fence topper creates a rotating barrier at the top of the fence”, and the listing says the roller system helps prevent climbing
A shorter kit than the one above — the listing states two 60 cm rollers and connecting hardware — and a different manufacturer, so it is a separate product rather than a fitment of it
The listing states compatibility with chain-link and wood dog-ear fences
Named here because its own text carries the criterion. No source consulted for this page compares one roller against another, and none is called better than another

Four fence specifications that disagree, the law by state, and the bite material. Read the Snakes page before buying any of the 7 products below.

Netting

Amagabeli Hardware Cloth, 1/4 Inch Mesh, 36 Inch x 50 Foot, Galvanized

States the mesh in its own words: “1/4-inch ultra-dense mesh design can block most crawling creatures”. Three of the four sources that specify a snake fence ask for 1/4 inch
States the finish: “Hot-dip galvanized anti-rust treatment ensures this wire mesh uniform, dense coating with reinforced protection on seams and vulnerable areas”. Three of those four sources ask for galvanized cloth specifically
Sold as a roll 36 inches by 50 feet. THAT IS THE ROLL AS SOLD. How tall a fence it makes depends on how it is set and how much is turned into the buried edge, and this card claims no fence height on the listing’s behalf
The listing’s own text names snakes among the animals it is sold to exclude. That is the seller’s claim, not a source’s finding

Netting

Hardware Cloth, 1/4 Inch Mesh, 36 Inch x 50 Foot, Galvanized After Welding

States the mesh: “FINE 1/4 INCH MESH: Small square openings keep out rabbits, rodents, and other small pests while allowing airflow and visibility”
States both the finish and the order it was applied in: “HOT DIPPED GALVANIZED AFTER WELDING: The galvanization process applied after welding ensures superior rust and corrosion resistance for long-lasting outdoor use”
Galvanizing after welding coats the joints as well as the wire. The listing states the sequence; no source consulted for this page expresses a preference between the two sequences, so none is expressed here
Sold as a roll 36 inches by 50 feet, which is the roll and not a fence height

Netting

SEBOSS Hardware Cloth Wire Mesh, 1/4 Inch, 36 x 50 Foot, 23 Gauge

States the mesh and the roll size in its title: 1/4 inch, 36 by 50 feet
The title does not state a finish. The listing’s own feature text does: “It features hot-dip galvanized after welding, ensuring that every joint” is coated. Without that sentence this roll would not have qualified, because a title that is silent on finish evidences nothing about it
A heavier 23-gauge wire, per the listing
Sold as a roll 36 inches by 50 feet. The roll dimension is not a fence height

Netting

PS Direct Hardware Cloth, 1/8 Inch Mesh, 36 Inch x 10 Foot, 27 Gauge

States the 1/8 inch mesh twice in its own text — “Small 1/8” mesh”, and “Roll measures 36 in. H x 10 ft. L with 1/8” opening”
This is the mesh for covering an opening, not for building the fence above. The two jobs use different apertures and they are set out separately on this page for that reason
The listing states “Uniformed galvanized 27 gauge steel. Wire is welded before galvanization process”. That is the opposite sequence to the two fence rolls above, which state galvanizing after welding. The sources consulted for this page specify no sequence for sealing mesh, so the difference is reported and not judged
A short roll at 10 feet, which suits covering vents and gaps rather than running a fence line

Netting

Hardware Cloth, 1/8 Inch Mesh, 24 Inch x 10 Foot, Galvanized

States the mesh in its own words: “The mesh is 1/8 inch, suitable for garden fences, bee breeding, and ventilation screens”
A narrower roll than the one above, at 24 inches, which the listing states
The listing states “using hot-dip galvanizing process, which is corrosion-resistant”. The sealing criterion consulted for this page names no material, so the finish is reported because the listing states it and not because anything requires it
In no order of preference against the roll above. No source consulted for this page compares one product against another

Sealant

GE All Purpose Silicone Caulk, Clear, 10 fl oz Cartridge

Colorado State names caulking compound among the materials for sealing openings, alongside mortar, expanding foam and 1/8-inch hardware cloth
For a gap too narrow to mesh over. The mesh rolls above are for an opening you cover; a cartridge is for a crack you fill
Already named on five other pages of this site for the same physical job. The product is the same; the reason it appears here is Colorado State’s sealing sentence

Chipmunks

When the sources say control is warranted, and what they support when it is. Read the Chipmunks page before buying any of the 5 products below.

Trap

Victor M201 Rat Trap, 12-Pack

Every source on this page that names a snap trap specifies a rat trap, not a mouse trap — Penn State says common rat snap traps, and UGA Extension specifies the large wooden-base traps used in rat control
The listing states both halves of that in its own words: a wood-based wire snap trap, and kill rats
Twelve traps, per the listing. ICWDM suggests counting the chipmunks on site and multiplying by three to decide how many traps to run
Penn State sets these perpendicular to the pathway, or in pairs along travel routes with the triggers facing away from each other; UGA places them at burrow openings or perpendicular to a wall
Both Penn State and ICWDM say to set the trap under a box that admits only a chipmunk, sized so the trap still operates, to keep birds out of it

Trap

Victor M201 Metal Pedal Wood Snap Rat Trap

The same M201 trap as the twelve-pack above, sold singly. This is a quantity difference and no source compares the two
Rat sizing is stated in the listing itself: designed for rats
A wooden base, which is the type UGA Extension names for chipmunk work
Penn State and Purdue both advise pre-baiting for two to three days before setting, so the animal takes bait from an unset trap first
UGA gives peanut butter alone or mixed with oatmeal as bait; Penn State adds nutmeats, pumpkin or sunflower seeds, raisins, prune slices or breakfast cereal grains, and says hard baits should be tied to the trigger

Exclusion

FORIMO Hardware Cloth 1/4 inch, 24 in x 50 ft, 19 Gauge, Black Vinyl Coated

Quarter-inch mesh is the one exclusion specification all three sources that give one agree on — Penn State, UGA Extension and ICWDM
Penn State uses it two ways: to close openings where chipmunks could get into a building, and laid over seeds and bulbs, covered with soil
It gives the overhang as a number: the cloth should extend at least one foot past each margin of the planting. A 24-inch roll covers a two-foot bed with that margin on both sides
ICWDM adds a quarter-inch mesh fence around individual plants as a third use
Already named on our opossum page for a different animal and a different job. Same mesh, and the reason here is the chipmunk sources own figure

Sealant

GE All Purpose Silicone Caulk, Clear, 10 fl oz Cartridge

UGA Extension names the openings by name: seal holes where gas lines, cooling lines, electric cables, dryer vents or cable TV lines enter the house, using caulking or quarter-inch welded wire
Penn State gives caulking first in its list of exclusion materials, alongside quarter-inch hardware cloth
An all-purpose cartridge silicone, which is the form those penetrations take rather than a window-and-door specific product
Sealing is the measure both of those sources put ahead of anything else for keeping chipmunks out of a building
Named on four other pages of this site for four other animals. The reason here is the chipmunk sources own instruction

Product

Stainless Steel Downspout Strainer, Fits 3.0 to 4.9 inch Pipe

UGA Extension states that chipmunks are especially troublesome in clogging rain gutter downspouts, and asks for wire mesh coverings on them; ICWDM asks for gutter guards and covered downspouts, and for exhaust vents to be secured with manufactured screens
The listing states it fits pipes of 3.0 to 4.9 inches inner diameter, with an adjustable height of 4.72 inches
Its own description names dryer vents, flue outlets and drainage pipes as what it is meant to keep animals out of
It is a spring-fit part, per the listing, so it goes in without tools

Trap

Victor Out O' Sight Mole Trap, 4-Pack

Trap

Victor Metal Pedal Mouse Traps, 12-Pack

Product

Baar MolEvict Castor Oil for Lawns, 32 oz

A liquid castor oil product applied through a garden hose sprayer, per the listing’s own directions
Castor oil is named as the active ingredient in the listing’s own title
The listing states coverage of 5,000 square feet for this size
Nebraska Extension says a castor product only works if it is watered into the lawn and sprayed over the whole area — a perimeter treatment does not work, because moles burrow under it
The listing is marketed for moles, voles, gophers and armadillos. Only the mole use is supported by any source on this page

Product

Tomcat Mole Killer, 10 Worm Baits

The EPA-registered label for this product carries the signal word CAUTION and restricts it to manual, below-ground applications
Bromethalin is the active ingredient: Nebraska Extension and UC IPM both name it for this product, and the EPA-registered label states 0.025%
This is a poison. The label warnings set out above this card are its own words, and they are the reason it sits at the bottom of this page rather than the top

House Mice

Trap

Victor Metal Pedal Mouse Traps, 12-Pack, Reusable Wooden Snap Traps

Its own title names the animal and the mechanism this page covers: a metal-pedal wooden snap trap sized for mice, not for rats
A twelve-pack, which matches the sources’ own instruction to use enough traps at once rather than one at a time — UC IPM states that traps should be spaced no more than about 10 feet apart in an active area
Reusable wooden-base construction, the plain design UC IPM describes as the least expensive snap-trap option on the market
This is a source-side match rather than a listing-side one: the criterion is UC IPM’s and Penn State’s own description of a standard mouse-sized snap trap, not a claim made in the product’s feature text

Product

Trapper LTD Mouse/Insect Glue Boards, Case of 72

Its own text names mice as a target pest, "Target pests: Mice , Insects , Spiders" (its punctuation, not ours), at 8 by 4 inches per board
Its own text states the placement UC IPM and the ICWDM sheet both describe: "Place glue board near baseboards, corners, along walls, or in spaces where pests are likely to travel"
A case of 72 boards, sized for the kind of infestation where several sources recommend placing multiple traps at once rather than one
This page reports the sources’ disagreement about glue boards as a class — see the trapping section — and does not resolve it. Naming this product is not this page endorsing the method over the alternatives it also names

Exclusion

1/4 Inch Hardware Cloth, 36 in x 50 ft, Galvanized

Its own text states the exact mesh size five sources name independently for excluding a house mouse: "FINE 1/4 INCH MESH: Small square openings keep out rabbits, rodents, and other small pests"
Its own text states the finish the sources ask for over a soft material — "HOT DIPPED GALVANIZED AFTER WELDING:" — which UC IPM and Nebraska both specify (metal or concrete, never plastic, rubber or foam) for a permanent seal
A 36-inch by 50-foot roll, sized for sealing multiple entry points across a foundation rather than a single gap
This is exclusion material, not a trap or a bait. The sources are explicit that exclusion, not chemical control, is the most permanent method

Rats

Norway rat versus roof rat, the half-inch a rat can squeeze through against the quarter-inch sources say to seal to, and trapping. Read the Rats page before buying any of the 4 products below.

Trap

JT Eaton Bigfoot Rat Snap Trap with Expanded Trigger, 12-Pack

Its own text states the mechanism UC IPM and ICWDM both recommend: "EXPANDED TRIGGER: Features an extended trigger with adjustable sensitivity for more precise trapping"
Its own text states construction sized for rats specifically: "STRONG AND DURABLE: Built with a sturdy wooden frame, designed for long-lasting use in rat control"
A twelve-pack, matching UC IPM's own instruction that a heavily infested home may need "a dozen or more traps"
The listing's fifth bullet is manufacturer self-praise about the brand's history; it is trimmed from this card copy and is not a ground for exclusion (S47-F)

Trap

Victor M205 Easy Set Plastic Pedal Humane Snap Rat Trap, Pack of 3

Its own text states the same expanded-trigger mechanism: "Expanded trigger for the highest catch rates" (the superlative is the listing's own; trimmed from the criterion, not a ground for exclusion)
Its own text names the nontarget caution the sources raise: "Can be used around kids and pets"
An easy-set plastic pedal design, matching UC IPM's own note that "newer designs" address the difficulty of setting older rat traps
Made in the U.S.A. per the listing's own text

Bait station

Rat Bait Station Outdoor with Key, Tamper-Resistant, 2-Pack

Its own text states the property every source that discusses bait placement requires: "TAMPER-RESISTANT OUTDOOR STATION: Features a locking lid with included key to help provide controlled access when used as directed"
Its own text states weather resistance, matching Nebraska's and ICWDM's own instruction to protect bait from moisture: "Weather-resistant construction helps shield bait from rain, dirt, and outdoor exposure"
Bait is not included. This is the station hardware only — the empty, lockable enclosure the sources describe, not a rodenticide, so S48-A's material-danger question is not reached
A 2-pack, sized for placing stations at more than one location, which every source on this page recommends over a single station

Netting

Fencer Wire 19 Gauge Galvanized Hardware Cloth, 1/2-Inch Mesh, 2 x 10 ft

Its own text states the gauge and mesh size UC IPM's own exclusion checklist asks for, together in one sentence: "19 gauge, heavy duty hot dipped galvanized hardware cloth"
The same sentence continues, separated here only because two filler clauses about cutting the material sit between them in the listing's own text: "The 1/2-inch mesh roll is flexible and tight enough to leave out larger ground crawling arachnids"
Its own text names rats directly among the animals the mesh excludes, not just rodents in general: "very effective at keeping out critters like squirrels, rabbits, rats, hawks, raccoons, skunks"
Its own text states the finish the sources ask for over a soft or ungalvanized material: "galvanized After Welding," with "a double zinc coating for maximum rust resistance." A 2 ft. by 10 ft. roll, per the listing's own stated size — sized for sealing a small number of specific gaps, not a whole foundation

Fabric & Paper Pests

Insects that damage clothing, carpets, paper and stored items rather than people.

Carpet Beetles

What the larvae eat, four freezing prescriptions that disagree, and the two criteria the sources state. Read the Carpet Beetles page before buying any of the 4 products below.

Product

IRIS USA WeatherPro Storage Bin, 47 Quart, Gasket Seal, 2-Pack

States the sealing property in its own words: the lid seals are described as creating a vacuum-like environment that locks out moisture and dust. Four of the fourteen sources on this page ask for an airtight container, and this is a listing that states the property rather than implying it
States a latching mechanism as well as a seal — a multi-buckle system the listing says gives a tight and secure fit
The same maker sells a 46 quart single box under ASIN B003OXNISG. It is the same line in a different size and pack count, so it is named here rather than listed separately
The listing names clothes among the things it is sold to store. No source consulted tested this or any other container against a carpet beetle

Product

Sterilite 54 Quart Gasket Box, 4-Pack

The only container checked whose own text uses the word airtight, and it pairs it with the mechanism: a gasketed seal plus hinged latch clips, which the listing says help block air, moisture, dust and pests
A larger box than the one above, at 54 quarts, and sold in a four-pack
Already named on two other pages of this site for the same physical job. What is new here is the reason, which is UC IPM’s storage sentence rather than anything about the product
A caution the sources attach to storage generally: UC IPM says items must be pest-free BEFORE they go into the container. Sealing an infested item in seals the infestation in with it

Trap

INSECTRA Carpet Beetle Pheromone Trap, 6-Pack

States a pheromone lure in its own text, describing target-specific attractants that draw beetles onto a sticky layer
The only listing checked that names the beetles to species: its own text says it is optimized for adult varied and black carpet beetles. Two of the three species UC IPM names for California are varied and black carpet beetles
The listing states six traps and six sealed attractant pouches, and gives a monitoring duration of up to three months
This is a monitoring tool. UC IPM recommends pheromone-baited monitoring for commercial warehouses and storage areas; for homes it says sticky traps can be used where an infestation is serious. Those are different statements and this card does not merge them

Trap

Mysora Carpet Beetle Traps with Pheromone, 48 Traps

States a pheromone in its own text: the traps are described as infused with pheromone technology to draw in carpet beetles
States the monitoring purpose rather than an eradication claim — its own text describes detecting activity and tracking where it is concentrated
Twenty-four boards that separate into forty-eight smaller traps, per the listing
⚠ The same brand sells a similar-looking 48-trap product whose own text says only that it carries a subtle scent attractant, and never says pheromone. That one is NOT this one and is not named here. If you are buying on the pheromone, check the listing says so

Household Moths

Product

IRIS USA WeatherPro Storage Bin, 47 Quart, Gasket Seal, 2-Pack

States the sealing property in its own words: the lid seals are described as creating a vacuum-like environment that locks out moisture and dust. UC IPM asks for an airtight container for fabrics, and this is a listing that states the property rather than implying it
Also states a latching mechanism — a multi-buckle system the listing says gives a tight and secure fit
The same maker sells a 46 quart single box under ASIN B003OXNISG. It is the same line in a different size and pack count, so it is named here rather than listed separately
Already named on this site for the same physical job against carpet beetles. What is new here is the reason: UC IPM gives the same storage instruction for clothes moths, and adds that items must be clean and pest free BEFORE they go in

Sterilite 54 Quart Gasket Box, 4-Pack

A larger box than the one above, at 54 quarts, sold in a four-pack
Named on three other pages of this site for the same physical job. The reason here is UC IPM’s clothes-moth storage sentence, not anything about the product

Trap

Dr. Killigan's Premium Clothing Moth Traps, 6 Traps

Names both clothes moth species in its own text, to scientific name: Tineola bisselliella and Tinea pellionella. Those are the two species UC IPM names as fabric pests
States a pheromone lure in its own text, and describes it as luring male moths to disrupt breeding
Its own text opens by stating what it is NOT for — pantry moths, food moths and gypsy moths. That exclusion is the same one UC IPM makes, written by the seller
Sold in two colors under two different ASINs. The listing itself says the only difference is how they look and that both carry the same pheromone and glue, so they are treated here as one product, not two

Trap

MaxGuard Clothes Moth Traps, 12 Traps plus 2

Names both clothes moth types in its own text — webbing and case-bearing — and states in the same sentence that it is not for pantry moths
States the pheromone and what it does: a timed-release female pheromone intended to attract and trap male moths and stop the breeding cycle
The largest trap count of the clothes-moth traps checked, at fourteen
A monitoring and mating-disruption tool. UC IPM says trapping helps detect and reduce an infestation and that trapped males cannot mate, but also says to take other measures alongside it

Product

Vtopmart Airtight Food Storage Containers, 24 Pieces

States the lid mechanism in its own text, not only in the product name: side-locking lids with a silicone gasket, which the listing says make the containers airtight
Twenty-four containers in four sizes, from 0.7 quart to 2.5 quart, per the listing
UC IPM asks for containers with tight-fitting lids and says plainly that plastic bags are not adequate. This is a lid-and-gasket claim rather than a bag
What the listing does NOT claim is pest exclusion. It claims air and moisture exclusion. The source criterion is a property of the lid, and that is all this card asserts

Product

CHEFSTORY Airtight Food Storage Containers, 8 Pieces

States an airtight seal in its own text and names the mechanism: side-locking lids with a black silicone gasket, which the listing says protect the containers from air and water
A smaller set than the two 24-piece sets, at eight containers in four sizes
⚠ The listing describes “4 side-locking lids” for an eight-piece set. Whether that means four locking sides per lid or four lidded containers is not resolved by the listing’s own text, so this card states no lid count

Product

PRAKI Airtight Food Storage Containers, 24 Pieces

Twenty-four containers in four sizes, sold with labels and a marker

UF/IFAS adds a category people miss: it names dog food and bird seed as overlooked infestation sites that should also be kept in sealed containers

Its own text points clothes-moth buyers away to a different product, which is the same division line this page draws
Six traps per pack, which the listing says last up to three months each

Trap

MaxGuard Pantry Moth Traps, 4 Traps Trial Pack

Names four stored-food moths in its own text — Indianmeal, flour, grain and seed moths — and states in the same sentence that it is not for clothes moths
States a timed-release female pheromone intended to attract and trap male moths
⚠ This is a four-trap TRIAL PACK, the smallest count of any trap on this page. The listing says so; it is repeated here because the other packs are larger

Four sources ask for the same thing here, and two of them list the foods by name — cereals, flour, meal, pasta and pet food
Twenty-four containers in four sizes, from 0.7 quart to 2.5 quart, per the listing

EcoPest Silverfish Trap, 12 Pack

The only trap checked that names firebrats as well as silverfish in its own text, and it names silverfish to type: bristletail, common, four-lined, gray and firebrat silverfish
States a scented attractant mixed into the glue rather than a separate lure wafer
UC IPM’s instruction is to use a plain sticky trap for detection and monitoring. This one adds an attractant, which the source neither asks for nor rules out

Names silverfish in its own text and names what it is meant to protect — books, photographs, documents, wallpaper, fabrics and clothing
⚠ READ THE DISAGREEMENT DIRECTLY ABOVE THIS CARD BEFORE BUYING. One extension service offers granular baits of this kind as an option; another says baits are not very successful against these insects because they tend not to feed on them. This page does not settle that

Product

Fly Strips Indoor Sticky Hanging Ribbon Roll, 24 Pack with Pins

A hanging adhesive ribbon, which is the form UC IPM names. Its own text describes an extremely sticky glue that traps insects landing on it
States in its own text that it contains no bait, so nothing about it is targeted at one fly species over another
Twenty-four rolls with hanging pins, and the listing says a roll can hang for up to three months before replacing

⚠ The listing contradicts itself: its title includes the words Fly Bait while a feature line states No Baiting. We make no bait claim for it, and neither should you rely on one

Fruit Flies

Where they actually breed, drain treatment that works, and the test that separates them from drain flies and fungus gnats. Read the Fruit Flies page before buying any of the 2 products below.

Treatment

Enzyme-Based Fruit Fly and Drain Fly Drain Treatment, 1 Gallon

Its own listing names fruit flies, drain flies, sewer flies and gnats directly as the organisms its formula targets, and describes an all-natural gel poured into a drain to break up and digest organic scum — matching the bacterial-treatment approach Iowa State University Extension names as an alternative to scrubbing.
Its own listing states the formula is non-toxic and safe for use around food, matching the kitchen/drain application this page covers.
S48-A note: this page cannot independently verify the manufacturer's effectiveness claims and does not repeat them as fact; it is carded because its own text states the correct use case (a drain-breeding treatment) matching the sourced guidance, not because of any efficacy percentage.

Its own listing states each trap provides up to 45 days of continuous protection with a ready-to-use, non-staining formula requiring no mixing — a manufactured equivalent to the funnel-jar and dish-soap traps described above, for a reader who wants a ready-made option rather than building one.

Fungus Gnats

The wet pot rather than the insect: how dry to let the soil get, what Bti does, and two sources that disagree about buying it. Read the Fungus Gnats page before buying any of the 2 products below.

Treatment

Summit Responsible Solutions Mosquito Bits, 30 oz

One of the two Bti products UC IPM names by name for fungus gnats, alongside Gnatrol.
Its own listing text states that the corn cob granules are coated in Bti, that the product is labeled to control fungus gnats in plant beds or pots, and that the bits can be sprinkled on the soil surface or mixed with potting soil before planting to kill fungus gnat larvae.
Wisconsin states to apply Bti products with adequate water so the Bti filters through the soil to reach the larvae. This is a larval treatment in the growing medium; it does nothing to the adults already flying.

Yellow Sticky Traps for Plant Gnats, 60 Pieces, Dual-Sided, Stake Holders Included

Its own listing text describes removing the trap from its paper, placing it in a holder and inserting the holder into the soil, which is the placement Maryland and Wisconsin describe: in the container, beside the plant.
This catches adults only. Every source read for this page treats trapping as monitoring and egg-load reduction, not as control — the larvae are in the growing medium and no trap reaches them.

TERRO Liquid Ant Killer Bait Stations, 12-Pack, Indoor Ant Traps, T300B

A prepackaged liquid bait station, which is one of the two forms UC IPM names for residential users. Its own text describes ready-to-use stations requiring no setup
The only card on this page whose own feature text names two of the four ants covered here. It lists odorous house and pavement ants among the ants it targets, alongside four ants this page does not cover
States a borax-based formula that worker ants carry back to the colony, which is the mechanism every source on this page describes
Its own text puts complete control at up to two to four weeks depending on infestation size, which sits alongside the source timings quoted above these cards rather than replacing them
⚠ Amazon search results rendered this same ASIN under two different model numbers, T300B and T300-2. The title fetched from the product page itself gives T300B, and that is what is printed here. Check the ASIN, not the model number

Borax is one of the borate active ingredients UC IPM lists for ant baits, quoted above these cards
Its own text states a design that prevents bait from drying out. Two sources on this page identify drying out as the thing that stops a liquid bait working, so this is a claim worth reading against them

TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stakes, 12-Pack, Ready-to-Use Ant Killer Trap

A see-through station body, which its own text offers for checking whether bait is being taken. UC IPM asks a reader to reposition or change bait if ants are not taking it, so being able to see the level is directly useful
